Shrimp Majboos is a traditional dish from Bahraini and Gulf cuisine, characterized by a rich blend of flavors and spices. It consists of basmati rice cooked with shrimp (prawns)

1 Teaspoon
of garlic

of tomato juice

2 Tablespoon
of Tomato paste

of oil

of turmeric

1 Teaspoon
of Ground cumin

1 Teaspoon
of cinnamon

1 Teaspoon
of Dry coriander

1 Teaspoon
of Salt

1 Teaspoon
of Ground black pepper

In a large pot, heat the oil, then add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. Next, add the minced garlic and continue to stir for one minute. Then, add the tomato juice and tomato paste, mix all the ingredients, and let it simmer on low heat for about 3 minutes

After that, add the spices (turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, salt, and black pepper) and stir well to distribute the spices. Then, add the shrimp (prawns) and stir again until their color changes

Next, add the rice (after washing it thoroughly) and mix it with the other ingredients. Then, add 4 cups of water and bay leaves. Allow it to come to a boil over high heat

Once the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and tender

Serve it hot with a side salad
